Which Phone Should You Buy Under Rs. 100,000?
A straight answer, not a spec dump. We stock 26 phones under Rs. 100,000 right now, from Rs. 29,900 up, and this page says which one to actually buy and who should skip it.
- 26 models in stock under Rs. 100,000
- Prices from Rs. 29,900
- Every price checked against our own stock on 5 August 2026
- Samsung, Xiaomi, Redmi, Honor, Infinix and Nokia, all in stock
The Short Answer
Buy the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G at Rs. 62,500. It is not the most phone you can get for the money, and it is not the cheapest thing we stock. It is the one that most people walking in with a budget of “around a lakh” end up happy with two years later.

The Best Samsung Phone in Sri Lanka Under Rs. 100,000
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, 8GB / 256GB, Rs. 62,500
- 6.7 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 90Hz, Gorilla Glass Victus
- 50MP main camera with OIS, 13MP selfie
- Exynos 1330, 5,000mAh, 25W charging
- Android 15, six years of updates
- microSD slot, which is getting rare
The OIS is the part worth paying attention to. It is the difference between a usable photo of your kid indoors and a blurry one, and it is the single spec most phones at this price drop first. Six years of updates means a phone bought now is still getting security patches in 2032.
The catch: the Exynos 1330 is fine for WhatsApp, YouTube, banking apps and casual games. It is not a gaming chip. If you play PUBG or Genshin seriously, keep reading.
If the Camera Is the Whole Reason You Are Buying
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15, 8GB / 256GB, Rs. 83,999
- 108MP main camera with OIS
- 6.77 inch AMOLED, 120Hz
- 5,520mAh battery, 45W charging
- Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, Android 15 with HyperOS 2
The most capable phone in the bracket on paper, and the 45W charging is the thing you will notice every single day. The A17 takes its time at 25W. This does not.
Skip it if this is your first Android, or you are the person the family calls for support. HyperOS is a bigger adjustment than Samsung’s One UI.
If You Play Games
Samsung Galaxy A36 5G, 8GB / 256GB, Rs. 81,500
- Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, the same chip as the Redmi Note 15
- 6.7 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz
- 1,200 nits, so it stays readable outdoors
- 5,000mAh battery
Against the Redmi Note 15 at Rs. 83,999 this is a close call, closer than the Rs. 2,499 gap suggests. Samsung for the software and the resale value here. Xiaomi for the camera and the faster charging. Both are good. Neither is a mistake.
If Battery Life Is the Only Thing You Care About
Xiaomi Redmi 15C 4G, 6GB / 128GB, Rs. 49,999
- 6,000mAh, the largest battery in this bracket
- 7.99mm thick, 33W charging
- 6.9 inch 120Hz screen
- IP64, NFC
The catch is in the name: 4G. No 5G at this price from Xiaomi, and the Helio G81-Ultra is a budget chip. For a delivery rider, a field sales job, or anyone who is away from a plug all day, none of that matters and nothing else here comes close.
If You Are Buying for a School Kid or a Parent
Samsung Galaxy A07, 4GB / 128GB, Rs. 37,900
- 6.7 inch HD+ LCD, 90Hz, IP54
- Helio G99, 50MP main camera
- 5,000mAh, 15W charging
- Android 15, six years of updates
- Dual SIM, and a 3.5mm headphone jack
For a first phone this is plenty and the rest is spending for the sake of it. The screen is HD+ rather than full HD, which you will notice next to an AMOLED phone and will not notice on its own.
There is a 6GB / 128GB version at Rs. 42,990. Worth it if the phone is meant to last, skip it if the budget is tight.
The One We Would Talk You Out Of
Honor X8B, 8GB / 512GB, Rs. 99,999
- Snapdragon 680, which is 4G only
- Android 13, older than the Rs. 37,900 A07
- 4,500mAh, the smallest battery here
- 108MP camera, 6.7 inch AMOLED, 90Hz
It is the most expensive phone under a lakh that we stock, and it is the one we would steer you away from. You are paying Rs. 99,999 for a phone with no 5G and an older Android version than the Rs. 37,900 Galaxy A07 on the same shelf.
If you genuinely need 512GB, buy the A17 5G at Rs. 62,500 and a microSD card, and keep the difference.

Models We Do Not Stock
People cross-shopping this bracket ask about these constantly, so it is worth being straight: we do not stock Realme, Poco, Oppo, Vivo, Tecno or Motorola at the moment. That means no price, no warranty and no after-sales from us on any of them, so we are not going to quote figures we cannot stand behind.
If you are comparing them anyway, the three specs that decide it are the same ones that decide it here. Is the screen AMOLED or LCD. Is it 5G or 4G. And how fast does it charge, because 45W and 15W are a different daily experience.
On Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Infinix and Nokia we can tell you what is actually in the box and who honours the warranty. Ask us before you buy elsewhere.
What Rs. 100,000 Does Not Buy You Here
Being straight about it: nothing in this bracket has a flagship camera sensor, wireless charging, or a telephoto lens. The phones that do start well above this budget.
What you do get, at every price on this list, is a 5,000mAh-plus battery and a screen that is good enough. The real decisions are AMOLED or LCD, 5G or 4G, and how fast it charges.
Quick Answers
The Galaxy A17 5G at Rs. 62,500. It is the cheapest Samsung here with an AMOLED screen, optical image stabilisation and 5G together, and it carries six years of Android updates. The A36 5G at Rs. 81,500 is the faster one if you play games, and the A07 at Rs. 37,900 is the sensible first phone.
Not right now. Every Galaxy A16 variant is out of stock at the moment, along with the A06 4GB models. The A17 5G is the direct replacement and it is the better phone anyway.
On the A07, no. 128GB is fine for a first phone and there is a microSD slot. On the A17 and above, yes, if you keep phones longer than two years.
These four change by model and by variant, and we would rather tell you the right answer for the exact phone you are looking at than print a general one here. Ask us before you order.
